Your rights

In relation to your personal data you have the following rights towards us:

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by an external service provider (STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Deutschland). When you access the site, the host automatically records data in so-called server log files that your browser transmits: your IP address, the date and time of access, the requested resource, the referring page, and the browser and operating system used.

This data is used to deliver the site technically, to ensure stable and secure operation, and to prevent misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning offering (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). The log data is not merged with other data sources and is deleted after a short period, unless it is required to investigate a specific case of misuse.

Live stream and real-time display

The live stream is delivered directly by our streaming server. In addition, the home page opens a real-time connection to our server to show what is currently playing and being said. For technical reasons, as with any page request, your IP address is transmitted to the server and processed in server log files (see above). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

The connection is made without any sign-in and without cookies. No personal data about you is transmitted over this connection; it only delivers public broadcast data (such as title, artist, and the current presenter text).

Contact form and email contact

If you contact us via the contact form on this site, the data you enter in the form (name, email address, type of enquiry, message and optionally your phone number) is transmitted to us and stored. At the time of sending, your IP address and the date and time of sending are also stored. Your consent to this processing is obtained as part of the sending process, with reference to this privacy policy.

Providing a phone number is optional; we use it only if you would like a call back. The details are delivered by email to our mailbox and kept there; we do not maintain any further database of enquiries.

After sending, you receive an automatically generated acknowledgement at the address you provided, repeating your message verbatim. It serves solely to confirm receipt; your address is not used for advertising or a newsletter.

Alternatively, you can contact us via the email address provided. In that case, the personal data transmitted with the email is stored.

The legal basis for the processing is your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR); if the contact is aimed at concluding a contract, additionally Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. The processing serves solely to handle your enquiry.

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected; for data from the contact form and from emails, this is the case when the respective conversation has ended. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

You can withdraw your consent to the processing of this data at any time, for example by email to info@hiveweaver.fm. In that case, all personal data stored in the course of the contact will be deleted.

Spam protection on the contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect the contact form against automated bulk submissions, we use Cloudflare Turnstile on the contact page, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

Turnstile checks whether the input comes from a human. To do so, a script is loaded from Cloudflare when you open the contact page, and your IP address along with technical characteristics of your browser and device behaviour are transmitted to Cloudflare and evaluated there. Cloudflare states that it uses this data solely for abuse detection, not for profiling or advertising. No cookies are set for this purpose.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning contact form that is not abused by automated submissions (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). The script is loaded only on the contact page, not on the rest of the site.

A transfer to the USA is possible. Cloudflare bases this on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. If you would prefer to avoid it, please use the email address given above instead of the form. That route is equally open to you.

Local storage in your browser

So that the site can remember your settings, we store a few purely functional values in your browser’s local storage:

• the language you selected (hwfm-lang-chosen)
• the colour scheme you chose (hwfm-theme-preference)
• the player’s volume and mute state (hwfm-volume, hwfm-muted)
• your decision about the analytics tool (hwfm-consent)

These values remain on your device, are not transmitted to us or to third parties, and serve solely to make the site work. This is not tracking. No consent is required for this technically necessary storage; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a functioning website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). You can delete these values at any time via your browser settings.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking cookies and embeds no advertising networks. Only the technically necessary local storage values described above are stored. The fonts used are served locally from our server; there is no connection to an external font CDN.

On your first visit, a notice banner appears through which you can consent to or decline the use of the analytics tool Umami. Your choice is stored in your browser and respected on future visits.

Web analytics (Umami)

We use Umami on this website, a privacy-friendly open-source web analytics tool. Umami is only loaded if you give your consent via the notice banner.

Umami does not collect personal data and does not use cookies. Only anonymised, aggregated data is collected, such as page views, time on site, country of origin, and device used. Identifying individual visitors is not possible.
